Job Overview:
A leading law firm is seeking an experienced Medical Malpractice Litigation Attorney to join its team. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on complex medical malpractice cases and achieve outstanding results for clients. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience representing plaintiffs in medical malpractice cases, including first-chair trial experience, and will be dedicated to delivering exceptional outcomes.

Location:

  • Tampa, FL

Duties:

  • Handle all aspects of medical malpractice cases in state and federal court
  • Lead pre-trial preparation, including motions, depositions, and case analysis
  • Represent clients in court appearances, mediations, negotiations, and trials
  • Conduct thorough research related to medical conditions, medical records, and case matters
  • Work with medical experts to develop case theories, expert reports, and testimony
  • Provide direction and guidance to legal team members and staff
  • Maintain a client-focused practice and ensure exceptional service throughout the case

Requirements:

  • A license in good standing to practice law in Florida
  • First-chair trial experience in medical malpractice cases on behalf of plaintiffs
  • Minimum of 5 trials completed to verdict
  • Strong medical knowledge and the ability to analyze medical records and doctor’s notes
  • Excellent research skills, including legal and non-legal sources
  • Experience working with medical experts to build case strategies
  • Strong courtroom presence and an eagerness to take cases to trial
  • Demonstrated success in providing direction and leadership to legal teams

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school

Certifications:

  • Active Bar membership in Florida

Skills:

  • Extensive trial experience, particularly in medical malpractice cases
  • Strong understanding of medical terminology and healthcare practices
  • Exceptional research, writing, and analytical skills
  • Proven ability to manage complex litigation and work under pressure
  • Leadership skills with the ability to guide and mentor legal staff
