Duties:

  • Case Management & Legal Representation:
    • Handle a high-volume caseload in criminal defense, immigration, or family law matters.
    • Attend court hearings regularly, including motion practice and client representation.
    • Provide legal counsel and guidance to clients in a range of legal issues.
  • Client Interaction & Customer Service:
    • Maintain strong, professional relationships with clients through consistent communication.
    • Offer personalized legal services, ensuring each client receives attention tailored to their unique needs.
    • Manage stressful situations with clients, maintaining professionalism and composure.
  • Collaboration & Workflow Management:
    • Work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.
    • Adapt to and quickly become proficient in various legal software and apps used by the firm.
    • Contribute to the firm's collaborative culture, sharing knowledge and supporting colleagues when necessary.

Requirements:

  • Licensing & Experience:

    • Licensed to practice law in New York (Required).
    • At least 2 years of experience in criminal defense, immigration law, or family law.
    • Experience handling motion practice and regular court appearances is essential.
  • Skills:

    • Strong ability to manage a high caseload efficiently.
    • Excellent client communication skills, both written and verbal.
    • Ability to remain calm and effective in high-pressure situations.
    • Proficiency with various legal software and apps, with a quick learning ability.
    • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Additional Qualifications (Preferred):

    • Admission to practice law in other jurisdictions (a plus).

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • New York Bar Admission (Required).
  • Admission to additional state bar(s) (Preferred).

Skills:

  • Litigation Skills: Proficiency in motion practice, courtroom experience, and legal research.
  • Client Relationship Management: Strong interpersonal skills for managing client expectations and providing personalized service.
