Job Overview: A law firm specializing in life sciences and healthcare law is seeking a Senior Life Sciences/Healthcare Compliance and Investigations Associate Attorney or Of Counsel with extensive experience in government-facing investigations and U.S. healthcare compliance matters. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in regulatory compliance within the life sciences sector, including medical devices and research and development (R&D), with additional experience in global compliance and the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA). This position requires exceptional academic credentials, significant law firm experience, and a proactive, entrepreneurial mindset.

Job Duties:

  • Conducted and led complex investigations of healthcare fraud, anti-kickback statutes, False Claims Act violations, and other regulatory matters.
  • Provide strategic counsel to clients on compliance issues specific to the life sciences industry, including healthcare regulations, FDA requirements, and global compliance standards.
  • Draft and negotiate agreements, policies, and procedures related to healthcare compliance.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including regulatory affairs, corporate compliance, and litigation departments.
  • Develop and deliver compliance training programs for clients and internal stakeholders.
  • Stay current with evolving regulations and industry trends affecting the life sciences and healthcare sectors.
  • Represent clients in interactions with government agencies and regulatory bodies.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the New York State Bar is in good standing; additional Bar admissions are a plus.
  • Minimum of 7+ years of experience practicing law, focusing on life sciences/healthcare compliance and investigations.
  • Proven track record in handling government-facing investigations and advising on significant U.S. healthcare compliance matters.
  • Strong understanding of regulatory frameworks applicable to the life sciences industry, including medical devices and pharmaceuticals.
  • Familiarity with global compliance issues and FCPA requirements preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex legal issues clearly and concisely.
  • Outstanding analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Business acumen and a demonstrated entrepreneurial spirit.
