A law firm in Chicago, Illinois, is seeking a Mid-Level Litigation Associate Attorney with 3-5 years of experience in a variety of litigation areas. The ideal candidate will possess strong writing, analytical, interpersonal, and communication skills, along with the ability to manage multiple work streams and produce exceptional work under tight deadlines. This role offers a hybrid in-office/remote work environment based in Chicago.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Handle a diverse range of litigation matters, including but not limited to commercial litigation (e.g., breach of contract, unfair competition, breach of fiduciary duties), real estate litigation, employment litigation, UCC disputes, construction litigation, product liability, intellectual property disputes, trusts and estates disputes, or appellate litigation.
  • Conduct legal research and draft legal memoranda, pleadings, motions, complaints, and written discovery.
  • Prepare for and attend depositions, hearings, mediations, and trials.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, and courts.
  • Manage and oversee junior associates and support staff on litigation matters.
  • Collaborate effectively with partners and senior associates on case strategy and management.
  • Maintain organized case files and documentation.
  • Uphold the firm’s commitment to high-quality legal work and client service.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the Illinois State Bar or eligibility to waive in, or willingness to sit for the upcoming IL bar exam.
  • 3-5 years of litigation experience in a law firm setting.
  • Experience researching and writing legal memoranda, drafting pleadings, motions, and discovery documents.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team, with confidence in handling direct client interaction.
  • Federal or state clerkship experience is a plus.
