Job Overview:
A law firm is seeking a Family Law Associate Attorney to join its team in Surprise, Arizona. This full-time role offers an exciting opportunity for an attorney with 0-5 years of experience in family law to independently manage cases in all aspects of domestic litigation. The firm provides support and resources, including senior attorneys, paralegals, legal assistants, and office staff, to ensure the incoming attorney's success and smooth transition into the team. The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and a passion for family law.

Location:

  • Surprise, Arizona

Duties:

  • Gain and maintain expertise in Arizona Family Law practice
  • Represent clients professionally in a wide range of domestic litigation matters
  • Create and manage case plans for assigned cases
  • Research, draft, review, and analyze legal documents
  • Communicate with clients via telephone, email, and written correspondence
  • Collaborate with paralegals and legal assistants regarding case strategy
  • Manage client expectations and advocate for ethical, reasonable positions
  • Prepare for and participate in legal hearings related to family law

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school
  • Active membership in the State Bar of Arizona or ability to become licensed to practice in Arizona
  • Excellent customer service skills and a strong work ethic
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail, accuracy, and meeting deadlines
  • Proficient in legal research and writing
  • Ability to work with and manage a team of support staff

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school

Certifications:

  • Current license in good standing with the State Bar of Arizona, or the ability to obtain licensure

Skills:

  • Excellent legal research and writing abilities
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to handle a high caseload and manage multiple priorities
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Teamwork and collaboration with paralegals and legal assistants
  • Spanish language skills (preferred but not required)
