Job Overview:
A law firm in Short Hills, NJ is seeking a Mid-Level Environmental Regulatory Associate Attorney with a strong background in environmental law and regulatory compliance. The ideal candidate will have 3 years of experience, focusing on key environmental statutes and regulations.

Duties:

  • Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with clients, colleagues, and third parties.
  • Produce deliverables and manage correspondence promptly and efficiently.
  • Ensure timely, accurate, and high-quality work product while meeting deadlines.
  • Build and maintain positive work relationships.
  • Adhere to all firm policies and practices.
  • Engage in both physical and sedentary tasks, including extended computer use and virtual meetings.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admitted to practice in Washington, D.C. and at least one other state.
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant legal experience in a law firm or agency setting.
  • Strong background in environmental law and key statutes, including TSCA, FIFRA, CAA, CWA, CERCLA, RCRA, and related state laws.

Certifications:

  • Active law license in good standing in Washington, D.C., and another state.

Skills:

  • Familiarity with environmental litigation and regulatory compliance.
  • Experience working with the EPA, NOAA, and state agencies is preferred.
  • Ability to advise clients on emerging environmental issues and liability exposure.
  • Proficient in negotiating agreements related to compliance and cost recovery.
  • Strong analytical, research, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent writing and oral communication abilities.
  • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
