A law firm in Muskegon, MI, is seeking a Senior Litigation Attorney I with a successful track record of mediation and trial experience. The ideal candidate will be responsible for researching complex legal issues, drafting various legal documents, marketing the firm's services, performing discovery, managing schedules, and ensuring timely invoice approvals. Excellent communication, advocacy, and interpersonal skills are crucial for this role.

 

Duties:

  • Utilize mediation skills effectively to reach successful outcomes.
  • Demonstrate significant trial experience with a history of successful litigation.
  • Conduct legal research and analysis on complex legal issues.
  • Draft memorandums, briefs, letters, and other legal documents.
  • Market personal and firm services to prospective clients.
  • Perform discovery of electronically stored data and hard copies of information.
  • Conduct due diligence in all legal matters.
  • Manage a schedule to allow for consultations and closure of consultations to meet production objectives.
  • Close consultations within a designated range, depending on practice area.
  • Ensure timely approval of invoices to maintain financial health.
  • Optimize support staff utilization and productivity.
  • Update case management systems with accurate and complete information.
  • Share work tasks with other attorneys and support staff to meet service objectives.
  • Actively engage in personal and firm brand expansion through various channels.
  • Solicit positive feedback and reviews from satisfied clients.
  • Perform any other job-related duties as assigned.

 

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of law practice experience.
  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an American Bar Association accredited law school.
  • Admission to the bar in the state of practice (or eligibility for reciprocal admission).
  • Strong writing and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent legal research abilities.

 

Education:
