Job Title: Associate Attorney

Job Overview
A prestigious law firm in Fort Lauderdale, FL, is seeking an experienced Associate Attorney to join its General Liability Practice Group. The ideal candidate will have 3-10 years of experience in general liability defense, including cases related to auto accidents, premises liability, professional lines, medical malpractice, and long-term care/assisted living claims. This position offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic legal environment, providing comprehensive representation to clients throughout all stages of litigation.

Duties

  • Review and prepare summaries of medical records to advocate for clients.
  • Draft and file motions, and represent clients in hearings.
  • Prepare and guide clients for depositions, and attend depositions as required.
  • Draft various reports, including initial, interim, pre-trial, trial, and appellate reports.
  • Respond to discovery requests and draft discovery-related motions.
  • Attend court regularly to advocate for clients and ensure favorable outcomes.
  • Take and defend depositions of both fact and expert witnesses.

Requirements

  • 3-10 years of general liability defense experience.
  • Licensed and admitted to practice law in the State of Florida.
  • Strong background in handling general liability claims, including auto, premises liability, and professional lines.
  • Experience in drafting motions for summary judgments and attending court appearances.
  • Proven ability to take and defend depositions.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • An active member of the Florida Bar.

Certifications

  • Admitted to the Florida Bar and in good standing.

Skills

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Proficient in both written and oral communication.
