Job Overview: A leading law firm located in Austin, TX, is seeking a Global Equity Compensation and Employment Associate or Managing Associate with 3-5 years of experience. This role is crucial within the Global Employment, Equity Compensation, and Immigration practice, providing a unique opportunity to work with large multinational and emerging company employers. The candidate will engage in diverse equity compensation and employment issues, contributing significantly to the firm’s innovative culture and commitment to client service.

Duties:

  • Counsel clients on various equity compensation and employment matters, including stock option (SO), restricted stock unit (RSU), and employee stock purchase plan (ESPP) programs.
  • Ensure compliance with securities and foreign exchange filings related to SO, RSU, and ESPP programs.
  • Address issues like leaves of absence, accommodations, contractor classification, and performance management.
  • Prepare multi-country analyses and draft employment-related documents.
  • Project manage global teams and conduct multijurisdictional research.
  • Assist in the preparation and delivery of detailed analyses and reports to clients.
  • Work on employment agreements, handbooks, and diligence projects tied to global M&A transactions, primarily in the fast-growth and technology sectors.

Requirements:

  • 3-5 years of experience in employee equity compensation or employment counseling, with a strong preference for cross-border experience.
  • Admission to the Texas State Bar.
  • Strong academic credentials with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Relevant experience with duties listed in the description is appreciated.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Must be admitted to practice law in Texas.

Skills:
