A law firm seeks a highly skilled Litigation Attorney to join its Midland, TX office. This full-time, in-office position involves representing clients in both state and federal court proceedings across a variety of complex matters, including construction litigation, contract disputes, intellectual property, and general commercial litigation. The role requires substantial trial and courtroom experience, as well as the flexibility to travel as needed.

Duties:

  • Represent clients in diverse litigation matters, managing cases from inception through trial in both state and federal courts.
  • Draft and prepare a variety of legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and trial briefs, with precision and efficiency.
  • Conduct thorough legal research to support case development and formulate strong litigation strategies.
  • Advocate for clients at hearings, mediations, and trials, delivering persuasive oral and written arguments.
  • Engage in mediation and, preferably, arbitration proceedings to resolve disputes effectively.
  • Collaborate with clients and legal team members to ensure thorough preparation for all court proceedings.

Requirements:

  • Proven litigation experience, including trial and courtroom capabilities.
  • Strong research and writing skills for effective case development.
  • Ability to handle hearings and draft legal documents with a rapid turnaround as required by case deadlines.
  • Willingness to travel to other locations for case-related matters when necessary.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active bar membership in the state of Texas.

Skills:

  • Proficient in legal research tools, such as Westlaw or similar platforms.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills for effective courtroom advocacy.
