A law firm seeks an experienced Employment Associate Attorney to join its team in Newark, New Jersey. The ideal candidate will have a robust background in employment litigation and/or counseling, with a strong focus on client service and a collaborative approach. Duties

  • Represent clients in employment-related litigation, including discrimination, harassment, wrongful termination, and wage-and-hour disputes.
  • Provide legal guidance and counsel to employers on compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws.
  • Assist clients with drafting, reviewing, and updating employment policies, handbooks, and agreements.
  • Conduct workplace investigations and advise on risk management strategies.
  • Collaborate with clients to develop proactive solutions to workplace issues, minimizing litigation risk.
  • Represent clients in administrative proceedings, mediations, and arbitration hearings.

Requirements

  • 3–4 years of experience in employment litigation and/or counseling.
  • Strong knowledge of employment laws, including FMLA, ADA, FLSA, Title VII, and related state statutes.
  • Proven track record of handling employment-related disputes and providing legal advice to employers.
  • New Jersey Bar admission is required.
  • New York Bar admission is preferred but not mandatory.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Licensed to practice law in New Jersey; admission to the New York Bar is a plus.
