Job Overview
A respected law firm is seeking an experienced Senior Associate Litigation Attorney to manage defense litigation cases from inception to jury trial. The ideal candidate will have 5-8 years of experience handling complex litigation, with a proven ability to draft pleadings, motions, and manage discovery. Duties

  • Self-direct case management from inception to resolution, under the supervision of partners.
  • Prepare and conduct hearings, depositions, mediations, trials, and arbitrations.
  • Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, and discovery documents.
  • Analyze and research case law, statutes, regulations, and other legal documents.
  • Interface with clients and opposing counsel in a professional manner.
  • Handle complex legal issues using initiative, creativity, and sound judgment.
  • Organize and manage documents for multidistrict and complex litigation cases.
  • Build relationships with clients and engage in networking and business development activities.
  • Work independently while collaborating with other attorneys and staff.
  • Provide supervision to junior associates and legal staff.
  • Maintain a high level of client service and communication.

Requirements

  • 5-8 years of private firm litigation experience.
  • Admission to the Ohio State Bar.
  • Proficiency with legal research tools, including Westlaw and LexisNexis.
  • Ability to manage cases with minimal supervision and supervise staff as needed.
  • Experience with complex litigation and multi-jurisdictional cases.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Must be admitted to the Ohio State Bar.
  • Admission to additional state bars is preferred.

Skills

  • Strong problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent legal writing and oral communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented and self-motivated with a professional attitude.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both orally and in writing.
