A law firm in Bloomington, MN, is seeking an experienced Labor and Employment Law Attorney to join its team. The ideal candidate will provide comprehensive legal counsel to clients on a wide range of labor union and employment law matters, ensuring compliance and representing clients in various forums.

Duties:

  • Collaborate with existing employment and labor law attorneys to handle labor and employment matters for multiple clients.
  • Represent clients in labor union matters, including union representation petitions, NLRB unfair labor practice charges, arbitrations, and collective bargaining agreement negotiations and interpretations.
  • Advise clients on ADA, OSHA, FMLA, and other regulatory compliance issues.
  • Handle cases involving discrimination, sexual harassment, employee discipline, terminations, and employee handbook reviews.
  • Provide counsel on disability accommodation and leave management issues.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school in the United States.
  • Licensed to practice law in the state of Minnesota.
  • 10+ years of experience in labor and substantial experience in employment law.
  • Proven track record in handling labor union matters, including NLRB proceedings and collective bargaining negotiations.
  • Strong understanding of federal and state employment laws and regulations.
  • Excellent litigation, negotiation, and advocacy skills.

Education and Certifications:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited United States law school.
  • Admission to the State Bar of Minnesota.

Skills:

  • Expertise in labor union representation, collective bargaining, and arbitrations.
  • Ability to interpret and apply federal and state employment laws effectively.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
