Bankruptcy Associate Attorney

Job Overview: A law firm in New York City, NY, is seeking a skilled Bankruptcy Associate Attorney with 4-7 years of experience in bankruptcy and restructuring. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in representing creditors, investors, distressed companies, and other stakeholders in complex U.S. and cross-border bankruptcy proceedings and out-of-court restructurings.

Duties:

• Represent clients in bankruptcy and insolvency proceedings, both in and out of court.
• Provide strategic advice and counsel to clients on restructuring transactions.
• Conduct legal research and draft legal memoranda and pleadings.
• Assist in preparing bankruptcy filings, including motions, pleadings, and disclosure statements.
• Collaborate with partners and senior associates on case strategy and client management.

Requirements:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
• Admission to the New York State Bar (active and in good standing).
• 4-7 years of substantive experience in bankruptcy and restructuring within a large law firm environment.
• Proven track record of handling complex bankruptcy cases and restructuring matters.
• Excellent academic credentials and strong analytical skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively under pressure.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with cross-border bankruptcy and insolvency proceedings.
• Familiarity with financial restructuring and distressed asset transactions.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.

Certifications:
