A law firm seeks an experienced and self-motivated Bodily Injury Defense Attorney to join its team in Jacksonville, FL. The ideal candidate will have 1-5 years of experience in personal injury litigation, particularly in bodily injury defense, and will be responsible for managing their caseload while collaborating with a diverse and dynamic team of attorneys. Duties:

  • Conduct legal research and draft legal briefs, opinions, and memorandums to support litigation strategy.
  • Review new cases and evaluate claims, including formulating proposed litigation strategies.
  • Prepare pleadings, motions, and discovery documents, ensuring compliance with deadlines.
  • Take depositions and examinations under oath as part of pre-trial preparation.
  • Litigate pre-trial motions and manage case developments.
  • Represent clients in mediation, hearings, and trials, including jury trials.
  • Maintain and organize case files, ensuring timely submission of court documents and adherence to client and court deadlines.

Requirements:

  • 1 to 5 years of experience in personal injury litigation (required).
  • Experience in bodily injury defense, including uninsured motorist claims and both first and third-party torts (preferred).
  • Strong litigation experience with the ability to manage all stages of the case, from initial evaluation to trial.
  • Proficiency in legal research and document drafting.
  • Familiarity with case management software (Pro Law preferred).
  • Licensed to practice law in the state of Florida (required).

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active license to practice law in the state of Florida.

  • Ability to independently manage cases while collaborating with a legal team.
