Job Overview: A law firm specializing in energy and infrastructure projects seeks an experienced Projects Lawyer to join their Austin office. The ideal candidate will have 4-6 years of relevant experience in project development and mergers and acquisitions, preferably in renewable energy or oil & gas sectors.

Duties:

  • Draft and negotiate engineering, procurement, and construction agreements (EPC), operations and maintenance agreements (O&M), equipment procurement agreements, and other project development contracts.
  • Conduct due diligence and risk assessment for project transactions.
  • Advise clients on regulatory compliance and project financing matters.
  • Manage project timelines and deliverables, ensuring compliance with legal and contractual obligations.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineers, finance professionals, and government authorities.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the Texas State Bar or eligible for admission via reciprocity.
  • 4-6 years of experience in project development and mergers and acquisitions within the energy sector, preferably with exposure to renewable energy projects.
  • Proven track record of negotiating complex commercial agreements.
  • Strong understanding of regulatory frameworks and environmental considerations in project development.

Certifications (Preferred):

  • Certification in Energy Law or related field.

Skills:

  • Excellent drafting and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize effectively.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Clear and practical communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Team player with the ability to work independently when necessary.
