Business Litigation Associate Attorney

Job Overview:

A distinguished mid-sized law firm is seeking a Business Litigation Associate Attorney to join its litigation team in Newport Beach, California. This role offers immediate, hands-on experience managing a wide variety of complex business disputes from inception to resolution. The ideal candidate will be comfortable handling cases involving breach of contract, partnership dissolution, real estate litigation, and intellectual property disputes, including trademark and copyright matters. This is a client-facing role with the opportunity to collaborate directly with experienced partners and a supportive legal team.

Location:

• Newport Beach, California

Duties:

• Handle all phases of business litigation cases from strategy through trial

• Conduct legal research and draft motions, pleadings, and memoranda

• Manage written discovery and document production

• Take and defend depositions

• Argue motions and represent clients in mediations and hearings

• Assist in trial preparation and participate in courtroom proceedings

• Work directly with clients, providing regular updates and strategic advice

• Collaborate with team members and senior attorneys on case development

Requirements:

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in business, real estate, or intellectual property litigation

• Demonstrated experience with drafting complex legal documents and managing discovery

• Proficiency in handling client communications and interacting with opposing counsel

• Experience with depositions, motion practice, and court appearances is preferred

• Ability to work independently and manage a full caseload

• Commitment to achieving favorable outcomes for clients

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school

Certifications:

• Active member of the State Bar of California
