Job Overview:
A prestigious law firm is seeking junior associates with 1 to 2 years of experience to join its Finance Practice Group. This role focuses on the Corporate Trust, Agency, and Asset Servicing Team, offering an exciting opportunity to gain exposure to transactional and/or workout experience related to securitization, corporate finance, collateralized loan obligations, and structured finance. Experience in representing corporate trustees, servicers, and agents is a plus, but not required.

Location:

  • Charlotte, NC

Duties:

  • Assist in the structuring and negotiation of finance-related transactions, including securitization, corporate finance, and structured finance matters.
  • Work on complex asset servicing and collateralized loan obligations (CLO) transactions.
  • Support senior associates and partners in managing transactional documents and client interactions.
  • Participate in the drafting, reviewing, and revising of financing agreements, loan documents, and related legal materials.
  • Conduct legal research on finance law and stay updated on relevant regulations and industry trends.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and clients in providing efficient and effective legal solutions.
  • Communicate directly with clients, ensuring all legal matters are handled in a timely and professional manner.

Requirements:

  • 1 to 2 years of experience in finance law, particularly in securitization, corporate finance, CLOs, or structured finance.
  • Experience in transactional matters or workout situations is strongly preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines efficiently.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active bar membership in the relevant state (North Carolina preferred).

Skills:

  • Solid understanding of finance law, including securitization, corporate finance, and structured finance.
  • Strong drafting, research, and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to manage complex legal tasks under tight deadlines.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Ability to work well in a team and interact effectively with clients and colleagues.
