Job Overview:
A well-established law firm is seeking a skilled and dedicated Immigration Attorney to join its Brooklyn, NY team. Duties:

  • Represent clients at in-person and virtual court hearings.
  • Conduct client consultations to assess their immigration matters.
  • Provide legal advice and guidance to clients in immigration law.
  • Draft and prepare legal documents related to immigration, including petitions, motions, and applications.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, ensuring clear communication and trust.
  • Participate in social media activities for client outreach and brand promotion.
  • Handle cases involving immigration and, potentially, family law (divorce).
  • Provide legal advocacy in both courtroom and administrative settings.
  • Collaborate with clients and colleagues to achieve successful outcomes.

Requirements:

  • Admission to the New York State Bar or another state bar (open to candidates with out-of-state bar admission).
  • A few years of experience practicing immigration law.
  • Strong writing, research, and legal drafting skills.
  • Ability to represent clients effectively in court.
  • Experience with client relationship management.
  • Ability to communicate complex legal issues to clients in an understandable manner.
  • Proficiency in social media for client attraction (personal social media accounts).
  • Bilingual in Spanish or Russian is a plus (but not required).

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an ABA-accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Admission to the New York State Bar or another state bar (required).

Skills:

  • Expertise in immigration law and legal procedures.
  • Excellent legal writing, drafting, and research skills.
  • Strong client communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Experience with courtroom and administrative advocacy.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
