Commercial Litigation Associate Attorney

A law firm seeks a dedicated and highly motivated Associate Attorney to join their team in Minneapolis, MN. This full-time, hybrid position offers a great opportunity for an attorney with 3-7 years of experience in employment law and commercial litigation. The ideal candidate will work closely with senior attorneys to provide legal counsel and represent clients in a wide range of employment and business disputes. This position offers exposure to both litigation and advisory work, with room for growth in corporate law and business transactions.

Duties:

• Assist senior attorneys in employment and commercial litigation matters, including cases related to non-compete agreements, trade secrets, minority shareholder disputes, business torts, and breach of contract.
• Provide legal advice and counsel to employers and executives on various employment law issues such as employment contracts, separation agreements, restrictive covenants, bonus and commission plans, and employee handbooks.
• Draft and review legal documents, including employment contracts, settlement agreements, and litigation filings.
• Conduct legal research to support case strategies and solutions.
• Attend depositions, hearings, and trials to support senior attorneys in litigation matters.
• Over time, gain exposure to corporate law, governance, business transactions, and real estate matters.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients while ensuring excellent communication and legal guidance.

Requirements:

• Minimum of 3-7 years of experience in employment law and commercial litigation.
• Proven ability to handle complex legal matters and work independently.
• Strong writing and analytical skills.
• Prior experience in providing legal advice and drafting employment-related documents.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Positive attitude, excellent work ethic, and team-oriented approach.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Must be licensed to practice law in the state of Minnesota.
