A law firm is looking for a talented and experienced Patent Agent to join their intellectual property team. This position will focus on patent prosecution for medical devices and related technologies, offering the chance to work on cutting-edge innovations in the field. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in drafting and prosecuting patent applications, responding to office actions, preparing opinions, and conducting prior art searches. Duties:

• Draft and prosecute patent applications related to medical devices and bioengineering technologies
• Respond to office actions and coordinate with clients to ensure timely and effective responses
• Assist in preparing patentability and freedom-to-operate opinions
• Conduct prior art searches and analyze results
• Collaborate with attorneys and clients to develop strategic patent portfolios
• Stay updated on trends and developments in patent law and medical device innovations

Requirements:

• Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Patent Agent, specifically in medical devices or bioengineering
• Expertise in mechanical engineering, artificial intelligence (A.I.), computer science, or related fields is a plus
• Strong understanding of patent law and USPTO procedures
• Admitted to practice before the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO)

Education:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Bioengineering, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field

Certifications:

• USPTO registration is required
