Litigation Attorney

A law firm seeks a motivated and self-driven Litigation Attorney to join its growing team in Los Angeles, CA. Duties

• Litigation Management

  • Independently handle all aspects of litigation, including filing pleadings, conducting discovery, motion practice, and trial preparation.
  • Draft pleadings, respond to discovery requests, and manage case documentation.
  • Take and defend depositions, and collaborate with senior attorneys when necessary.
  • Draft and argue motions, such as motion to compel, motion for summary judgment, and motion in limine.
  • Represent clients in court hearings and manage case schedules.
  • Serve as first chair at trial and provide legal representation during proceedings.

• Collaboration and Case Strategy

  • Work closely with colleagues and clients to develop case strategies and provide legal counsel.
  • Participate in team meetings to discuss case progress and best practices.
  • Engage in ongoing legal research to support case preparation and development.

Requirements

• Experience

  • 0-2 years of litigation experience, ideally with exposure to civil rights or plaintiff-side practice.
  • Ability to handle a caseload independently after initial training.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Fluency with standard litigation practices, rules, and procedures in California state and federal courts.

Education

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
