A law firm seeks an experienced eDiscovery Review Attorney to join its Litigation & E-Discovery Services team in Washington, DC. This full-time role offers the opportunity for both in-person and hybrid work. The successful candidate will bring extensive knowledge in eDiscovery platforms and document review workflows, with a focus on managing electronic discovery processes in complex litigation.

Duties:

  • Lead and supervise strategic document review and production in litigation cases.
  • Provide legal guidance to case teams on managing document review processes, including creating review protocols, training reviewers, and supervising privilege reviews.
  • Advise on best practices related to electronic stored information (ESI) search and review across various legal matters, including litigation and regulatory investigations.
  • Coordinate with the firm’s contract professionals team to manage the hiring and administration of temporary review attorneys.
  • Oversee temporary review attorney teams, providing feedback, tracking performance, and ensuring quality control.
  • Perform detailed document review using platforms such as Relativity, reviewing for relevance, confidentiality, and privilege.
  • Conduct privilege reviews and redactions, including preparing privilege logs.
  • Assist case teams with targeted searches to support fact development and deposition preparation.
  • Collaborate with other eDiscovery professionals to ensure adherence to workflows and confirm quality control.
  • Develop and recommend defensible, cost-effective strategies for document review.
  • Help case teams design strategies for reducing document review costs through keyword development and document sampling.
  • Stay up-to-date on evolving eDiscovery laws and best practices, including federal and state rules on privilege and proportionality.
  • Work closely with other business professionals in the firm to improve the efficiency of electronic discovery services.
  • Travel to client sites or offices as needed.
  • Maintain accurate and timely billing for both billable and non-billable hours.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience managing complex litigation document reviews and eDiscovery projects.
  • Experience with relational document review platforms, such as Relativity.
  • An active member in good standing of the DC State Bar.
  • Ability to work extended hours or weekends, as needed.
  • Ability to travel when necessary.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree required.

Certifications:

  • eDiscovery certifications or specialized training are a plus.
