A law firm seeks a skilled and driven Employment Litigation Attorney to join its team in New York City, NY. The ideal candidate will have experience managing a diverse caseload, from initial intake to case resolution, with a focus on employment-related matters. This role offers valuable hands-on litigation experience and the opportunity to work under a team of experienced lawyers in a dynamic environment.

Duties:

  • Manage a full caseload, guiding cases from intake through to final resolution.
  • Draft and prepare demand letters, complaints, motions, and other legal documents.
  • Provide strong advocacy for clients during all phases of litigation.
  • Represent clients in court hearings, conferences, and depositions.
  • Respond to and prepare discovery materials.
  • Participate in settlement efforts, including mediations and settlement conferences.
  • Collaborate with a team of attorneys to develop and implement case strategies.

Requirements:

  • Admitted to the New York State Bar.
  • 3-8 years of litigation experience, with a focus on employment law.
  • In-depth knowledge of the following statutes:
    • Title VII of the Civil Rights Act
    • New York State Human Rights Law
    • New York City Human Rights Law
    • Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA)
    • New York Labor Law (NYLL)
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to handle complex litigation and work independently.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent drafting and legal research abilities.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active license to practice law in New York (required).

Skills:

  • Expertise in employment and labor law, specifically in litigation.
  • Proficient in drafting legal documents, including complaints, motions, and discovery.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to manage a high-volume caseload efficiently.
  • Collaborative team player with a strong work ethic.
