Job Overview:
A prestigious law firm is seeking an experienced Finance and Restructuring Litigation Associate to join its Native American litigation team. This role offers the opportunity to represent tribes, tribal entities, and tribal members in complex legal issues involving tribal sovereignty, gaming, self-determination, and commercial disputes. The successful candidate will have the chance to work on high-profile cases and contribute to the growth of the firm’s Native American practice. This position is available in multiple office locations and provides the opportunity to litigate both commercial and construction disputes.

Location:

  • San Francisco, CA

Duties:

  • Represent tribes, tribal entities, and tribal members in complex litigation matters, including those related to tribal sovereignty, gaming, and self-determination.
  • Handle commercial and construction disputes.
  • Participate in all aspects of litigation, including trial preparation, depositions, hearings, and oral arguments.
  • Work on administrative law matters and assist with legal research, drafting motions, and other litigation tasks.
  • Collaborate with senior attorneys and team members to develop case strategies and ensure favorable outcomes.
  • Maintain client relationships and provide legal guidance on a variety of complex issues.

Requirements:

  • 3-5 years of litigation experience or a significant interest in Federal Indian Law, litigation, and administrative law.
  • Trial, deposition, hearing, and oral argument experience is a plus.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage complex cases.
  • Excellent academic credentials and strong analytical and writing abilities.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with a team and manage a caseload independently.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Licensed to practice law in the relevant jurisdiction(s).

Skills:

  • Strong litigation and trial skills.
  • Excellent writing, research, and analytical abilities.
  • Ability to handle complex legal issues related to Federal Indian Law.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in a collaborative team environment.
