Entry-Level Criminal Defense Attorney

Job Overview:

A premier law firm in Las Vegas, NV, is seeking a dedicated Entry-Level Criminal Defense Attorney to join its team. This position offers an excellent opportunity for a recent law school graduate or an attorney with limited experience to develop their career in criminal defense. The attorney will report to the Managing Criminal Defense Attorney and will have the opportunity to manage a caseload while collaborating with a team of skilled attorneys and legal assistants.

Duties:

• Advise clients on their legal rights and draft legal documents related to their criminal cases.
• Attend pretrial hearings on behalf of clients and provide strategic advice on best courses of action.
• Manage court appearances, trials, drafting motions, interviewing witnesses, and conducting legal research.
• Analyze probable outcomes of cases using knowledge of legal precedents and applicable laws.
• Manage a caseload and ensure that each case progresses effectively.
• Provide legal analysis to clients to determine possible case benefits or alternatives.
• Collect additional evidence to support clients' cases and counter the prosecution's charges.
• Prepare clients for depositions, develop case strategy, and gather information from witnesses and experts.

Qualifications:

• Education & Experience:
  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Demonstrated interest in criminal defense law through law school clinics, volunteer work, or internship experience.
  • Active bar admission (law graduates awaiting bar admission may also be considered).
• Skills:
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a team-oriented approach.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage a caseload and move legal cases forward.
  • Experience with case management software is preferred.
• Languages:
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) is preferred but not required.
