The ideal candidate will have experience with registered investment companies, offering the opportunity to work on complex matters within an esteemed practice group.

Duties:

  • Advise clients on matters related to registered investment companies, including compliance with the Investment Company Act and the Investment Advisers Act
  • Provide legal support in the formation, management, and operation of various investment vehicles such as exchange-traded funds (ETFs), variable insurance products, and business development companies
  • Assist in the regulatory aspects of investment advisers, commodities, and related areas
  • Collaborate with clients and internal teams to provide strategic legal advice and solutions
  • Participate in the preparation and filing of legal documents with regulatory agencies
  • Work on a wide range of legal matters, including mergers, acquisitions, and restructurings in the financial services industry
  • Maintain awareness of emerging regulations and trends in financial services law

Requirements:

  • 3-6 years of experience in a similar role, with a focus on registered investment companies and related matters
  • Comprehensive understanding of the Investment Company Act and the Investment Advisers Act
  • Previous experience with exchange-traded funds, variable insurance products, business development companies, or commodities is highly advantageous
  • Experience from a large law firm, in-house, or regulatory agency environment is preferred
  • Strong analytical, research, and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently while also contributing to a team environment

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school

Certifications:

  • Admitted to the Bar in California or eligible to obtain licensure

Skills:

  • Expertise in financial services law, including registered investment companies
  • Strong understanding of regulatory compliance and industry standards
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines efficiently
