Job Overview:
A well-established law firm in Murrieta, CA is seeking a skilled and motivated Post-Conviction Relief Attorney to join their growing legal team. This role presents a unique opportunity for a dedicated attorney to develop expertise in both criminal and immigration law while managing a diverse caseload. The ideal candidate will have a solid foundation in criminal defense or immigration law, with a passion for securing post-conviction relief for clients. The Post-Conviction Relief Attorney will work closely with the firm’s Supervising Attorney and a collaborative team of legal professionals.

Duties:

• Advise clients on their legal rights and draw up relevant legal documents.
• Handle post-conviction relief cases, including motions to vacate, expungements, motions to reduce, and early termination of probation.
• Attend motion hearings and provide strategic advice to clients following each hearing.
• Manage criminal cases such as arraignments, pre-trials, pleas, and sentencing.
• Collaborate with colleagues to strategize and offer solutions to clients’ legal matters.
• Conduct legal research, draft motions, and handle client interviews.
• Analyze case outcomes using legal precedents and provide legal analysis for clients.

Requirements:

• Criminal defense or immigration law experience.
• Experience handling criminal cases at the state and local levels.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) is preferred but not required.
• Team-oriented with a collaborative mindset.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Must be admitted to practice law in the state of California.

Skills:

• Excellent legal research and writing abilities.
• Strong litigation and courtroom experience.
• Ability to manage a caseload and prioritize tasks efficiently.
• Detail-oriented with critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
