This role will support senior associates, of counsel, and partners in the SSDLPG (Student Services and Disabilities Law Practice Group). The ideal candidate will have 2-5 years of experience and showcase strong research, writing, and interpersonal skills.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide legal support and advice on matters related to student services and disabilities law.
  • Conduct thorough research and analysis on legal issues and case law about educational institutions and disability accommodations.
  • Draft, review, and edit legal documents, including briefs, memos, and correspondence.
  • Collaborate with senior associates, counsel, and partners to develop case strategies and prepare for hearings or trials.
  • Assist in managing client cases, including communication, case updates, and legal advice.
  • Represent clients in administrative hearings and other legal proceedings as required.
  • Stay updated on relevant laws and regulations changes, and advise the firm on their impact.
  • Participate in client meetings, consultations, and negotiations.
  • Contribute to developing legal strategies and solutions tailored to individual client needs.

Requirements:

  • 2-5 years of experience in student services and disabilities law or a related field.
  • Proven ability to conduct legal research and produce high-quality written work.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with clients, colleagues, and other stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Admitted to practice law in the state of California.
