Duties:

  • Provide expert legal counsel and representation to clients in patent prosecution matters, focusing on biotechnology subjects such as antibodies, DNA or RNA therapeutics, chemical biology, and gene editing.
  • Conduct comprehensive legal research and analysis to support clients' patent applications and prosecution needs.
  • Draft, review, and file patent applications, amendments, and responses to office actions.
  • Collaborate closely with clients and senior attorneys to develop effective patent prosecution strategies.
  • Stay updated on developments in patent law and regulations in the biotechnology sector.
  • Manage patent prosecution and counseling projects with emerging companies.

Requirements:

  • 1-7 years of patent prosecution experience within a biotechnology practice.
  • Possession of an advanced degree, preferably a Ph.D., in a life sciences technology area.
  • Membership in the Patent Bar with a USPTO Registration Number is mandatory.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
  • An advanced degree, preferably a Ph.D., in a life sciences technology area (e.g., molecular biology, immunology, biochemistry, cell biology).

Certifications:

  • Membership in the Patent Bar with a USPTO Registration Number is required.

Skills:

  • Proficiency in patent prosecution within the biotechnology field.
