Duties:

  • Handle a variety of employment law cases, including employment discrimination, sexual harassment, disability accommodations, family and medical leave, and compensation disputes.
  • Draft and file settlement demand letters, charges of discrimination, position statements, complaints, and dispositive motions.
  • Provide counsel to clients on employment law issues in settings such as pre-agency discussions, pre-litigation settlements, mediations, litigation, and arbitration.
  • Conduct comprehensive legal research related to employment law matters.
  • Represent clients in both formal and informal mediation and litigation processes.

Requirements:

  • 2-4 years of experience in employment law.
  • Strong background in handling employment discrimination, retaliation, and sexual harassment cases.
  • Experience with drafting settlement demand letters, complaints, and dispositive motions.
  • Extensive experience in legal research for employment law matters.
  • Ability to counsel clients in pre-litigation settlements, mediations, and litigation.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills for client interaction.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active license to practice law in Illinois (or the ability to obtain it before starting the position).

Skills:

  • Expertise in employment law.
  • Proficiency in legal research, drafting legal documents, and filing motions.
  • Strong negotiation skills for pre-litigation settlements and mediations.
