A law firm seeks a Senior Corporate Attorney to join its growing team in Saint Petersburg, FL. This is an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated attorney with significant experience in corporate law, particularly in regulated industries such as transportation and logistics. The ideal candidate will possess strong business acumen, transactional expertise, and a deep understanding of the regulatory landscape, and will be eager to contribute to a fast-paced, dynamic firm while engaging in substantial client-facing work.

Duties

  • Review, draft, and negotiate complex commercial contracts, including transportation agreements, warehousing agreements, purchase agreements, vendor agreements, and more.
  • Provide strategic legal advice regarding contract terms and their implications on client business operations.
  • Conduct research and provide legal analysis related to transportation law, secured transactions, financing arrangements, and dispute resolution.
  • Develop risk management strategies and oversee insurance coverage matters for transportation entities.
  • Assist with due diligence in mergers, acquisitions, and sales of related entities.
  • Manage high-volume client matters efficiently and professionally.
  • Offer solutions to complex legal matters, proactively communicating with clients and partners.
  • Oversee compliance audits and investigations, and respond to regulatory inquiries.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and junior associates to ensure effective case management and legal delivery.
  • Generate business opportunities and maintain relationships through networking and industry engagement.
  • Participate in industry forums, associations, and conferences through speaking, writing, and presentations.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of experience practicing law, with a focus on corporate law, ideally within a regulated industry.
  • Strong experience in commercial contract drafting, negotiation, and legal analysis.
  • Experience in the transportation, mergers and acquisitions, or employment sectors is highly desirable.
  • Ability to handle a high volume of cases and provide strategic leadership.
  • Ability to analyze laws and legal concepts across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong negotiation and conflict resolution skills, with a consultative approach.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, manage complex cases, and meet deadlines.
  • Proven business judgment and ability to apply practical solutions to legal issues.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA-accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Admission to the Florida Bar, or eligibility to be admitted.
