Duties:

  • Manage individual caseloads, defending cases from inception through trial.
  • Draft and respond to pleadings and discovery requests.
  • Take and defend depositions of party and non-party witnesses.
  • Draft and argue discovery and dispositive motions.
  • Collaborate with a team on complex cases, developing and implementing inventive defense strategies.
  • Represent clients in both State and Federal Court as needed.

Requirements:

  • 4-7 years of experience in relevant practice areas, including high exposure defense work.
  • Strong writing, communication, analytical, and creative thinking skills.
  • Ability to manage cases independently and progress them efficiently.
  • Experience in trial is beneficial but not required.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Licensed to practice law in New York.
  • Admission to other jurisdictions or a willingness to seek additional bar admissions is preferred.
  • Admission to federal courts in New York is also strongly preferred.

Skills:

  • Proficiency in legal writing, analysis, and oral argument.
  • Strong case management abilities.
