Job Overview:

This position is ideal for someone with 2 to 4 years of experience in trademark, copyright, and trade-secret law, including litigation. The firm’s focus on multi-disciplinary technology law requires an individual who thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and is passionate about working on cutting-edge IP issues, particularly in the realm of AI, data collection, and model training.

Duties:

  • Manage technology litigation and enforcement matters related to trademark, copyright, and trade secrets
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop comprehensive legal solutions for clients
  • Develop strategies for complex litigation and enforcement actions
  • Provide counsel to clients on legal risks related to product development
  • Conduct detailed legal research and draft legal documents, demonstrating exceptional writing skills
  • Oversee the discovery phase of litigation, including managing e-discovery efforts with clients and vendors
  • Communicate effectively with clients and team members, demonstrating excellent verbal skills
  • Take an active role in client relationships and work effectively as part of a team

Requirements:

  • 2-4 years of experience in trademark, copyright, trade secret law, and litigation, with familiarity with false advertising law
  • In-depth knowledge of the Lanham Act, the Copyright Act, DMCA, federal and state trade-secret laws, and computer-access laws like the CFAA
  • Strong legal research, writing, and analysis capabilities
  • Proven ability to work across a variety of legal principles to support technology-focused clients
  • Ability to engage in client-facing situations and maintain strong professional relationships
  • Membership in the State Bar of California is required

Education:

  • J.D. from an accredited law school

Certifications:

  • Active membership in the California State Bar

Skills:

  • Strong litigation experience, particularly in IP law
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills
  • Ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously
  • Client-focused with excellent interpersonal skills
  • Familiarity with AI and tech-related legal challenges is a plus
