Job Overview: A law firm in Irvine, CA, seeks a skilled Trust and Estates Attorney to join their team. The ideal candidate will have substantial experience in estate planning, strong drafting skills, and the ability to advise clients on complex trust structures and tax implications.

Duties:

  • Customize and draft foundational estate planning documents tailored to client needs.
  • Consult with clients to advise on the design and implementation of revocable living trusts.
  • Research estate planning strategies and tax issues.
  • Evaluate, update, and coordinate template documents, letters, and procedural manuals.
  • Guide on estate and gift tax matters and their implications.
  • Handle corporate matters affecting closely held companies related to estate planning.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience in estate planning.
  • 3+ years of experience with trusts and estates in a mid- to large-sized law firm preferred.
  • J.D. from an accredited law school.
  • Membership in good standing with the California Bar.
  • Strong drafting skills with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of estate and gift tax laws.
  • Preferably, an LLM or strong background in tax law.
  • Ability to interact effectively with clients and management, demonstrating strong interpersonal skills.
  • Capability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Commitment to professionalism and flexibility in handling diverse projects.

Education and Certifications:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the California Bar in good standing.
  • LLM in Tax Law or equivalent preferred.

  • Proficiency in estate and gift tax planning.
