Litigation Attorney

A law firm in Nashville, TN is seeking a skilled Litigation Attorney with a focus on insurance defense to join their team. The ideal candidate will have a strong interest in and experience with all phases of civil litigation. The role involves supporting senior attorneys with complex cases, managing a litigation caseload, and providing counsel to insurance claims departments.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Support senior attorneys in handling complex civil litigation cases, particularly in insurance defense.
• Prepare and draft pleadings, motions, briefs, and conference notes.
• Conduct depositions and handle court appearances.
• Provide legal counsel to insurance claims departments on various issues.
• Manage a litigation caseload from inception to resolution.
• Conduct discovery research, including analyzing and summarizing legal documents and contracts.
• Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, and other legal professionals.
• Maintain detailed case files and documentation.

Requirements:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an ABA-approved law school.
• Active member in good standing with the Tennessee Bar.
• Prior experience in civil defense litigation, specifically insurance defense.
• Strong interest and experience in all phases of civil litigation.
