Job Overview: A well-established law firm is seeking an experienced M&A Associate to join its Energy and Infrastructure team. This role is ideal for a motivated attorney with 3-6 years of experience in energy and/or infrastructure M&A and joint ventures. The firm represents a broad range of market participants across sectors like renewables, power generation, oil & gas, energy transition, and infrastructure. Location:

  • Austin, TX

Duties:

  • M&A and Joint Ventures:
    • Represent clients in complex M&A and joint venture transactions within the energy and infrastructure sectors.
    • Work with a diverse range of clients, including those in renewables, conventional power, oil & gas, energy tech, and energy transition.
  • Transaction Management:
    • Lead and manage aspects of M&A transactions, from initial due diligence to deal closing.
    • Coordinate with various internal and external stakeholders to ensure efficient deal execution.
  • Legal Advisory:
    • Provide strategic legal advice on structuring, negotiating, and drafting M&A agreements.
    • Address regulatory, compliance, and transactional challenges in the energy and infrastructure sectors.
  • Client Relationship Management:
    • Develop and maintain strong client relationships through effective communication and strategic advice.
    • Support business development efforts through client interaction and marketing initiatives.

Requirements:

  • 3-6 years of experience in M&A transactions, preferably in energy or infrastructure sectors.
  • Strong understanding of joint ventures and M&A deal structures.
  • Exceptional academic credentials and communication skills.
  • Membership in the State Bar of the jurisdiction where the candidate is applying (Texas, California, New York, or D.C.).
  • Proven ability to manage complex legal matters and work collaboratively within a team.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Licensed to practice in the state of the office where the candidate is applying.

Certifications:

  • Membership to the State Bar of the jurisdiction where the candidate is expected to be located.

Skills:

  • Expertise in M&A transactions and joint ventures within the energy and infrastructure sectors.
  • Strong negotiation, drafting, and deal management skills.
  • Ability to work well under pressure while managing multiple high-stakes projects.
  • Proficiency in utilizing modern legal tools and technologies.
