Commercial Litigation Associate

Job Overview:
An established law firm is seeking an experienced Associate Attorney to join its Commercial Litigation team in Chicago. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic environment with highly experienced legal practitioners. Attorneys will work closely with clients and other legal professionals, handling a variety of commercial litigation matters from inception to conclusion.

Location:

Duties:

• Handle multiple legal matters simultaneously, including high-level and strategic aspects of cases from inception to resolution
• Communicate effectively with clients and attorneys, demonstrating strong interpersonal skills
• Work independently while maintaining a high level of productivity and delivering quality legal work
• Ensure the billing of required hours to provide excellent client service
• Contribute to business development efforts individually and in groups
• Comply with the highest ethical standards of the legal profession

Requirements:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school
• Licensed to practice law in Illinois and in good standing
• 5+ years of experience as a licensed attorney at a law firm or equivalent clerkship experience
• Ability to make sound decisions on client matters with consultation from senior attorneys
• Demonstrated ability to delegate tasks effectively
• Strong professional written and oral communication skills
• Proven ability to work as a part of a team and lead teams in legal matters
• Desire to continuously learn and master new areas of law and technology
• Commitment to the firm’s values, including diversity and inclusion

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school

Certifications:

• Licensed to practice law in the state of Illinois
• Must maintain applicable license renewal and CLE requirements
