Job Overview:
A well-established law firm is seeking an experienced Family Law Attorney to join their team in Downers Grove, IL. Location:

Duties:

  • Manage family law cases, including divorce, alimony, child support, and child custody.
  • Prepare and file legal documents such as prenuptial agreements, marital settlement agreements, pleadings, motions, judgments, and orders.
  • Represent clients in court hearings and proceedings as needed.
  • Handle division of marital assets, including real estate, during divorce proceedings.
  • Analyze client situations and develop strategic plans of action to resolve legal issues.
  • Collaborate with senior attorneys, paralegals, and support staff to ensure case progress.
  • Maintain and organize client files to ensure accurate and timely updates.
  • Provide clients with legal advice and guidance throughout the litigation process.

Requirements:

  • Must be licensed to practice law in the State of Illinois.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience practicing family law.
  • Experience handling divorce, child custody, child support, alimony, and domestic violence cases.
  • Strong negotiation and communication skills, especially in high-stress and emotional situations.
  • Ability to work effectively with clients facing complex personal and legal issues.
  • Ability to manage a high volume of cases and prioritize workload efficiently.
  • Proficiency in relevant software applications including Google Suite, Family Law Software, Microsoft Office, MyCase, and Zoom.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Undergraduate degree with a legal background.

Certifications:

  • Active Illinois State Bar membership.
