Job Overview:

A law firm is seeking an experienced Criminal Defense Attorney to join its team in Las Vegas, NV. This position offers an excellent opportunity for an attorney with at least 3 years of experience in criminal defense to further their career while gaining exposure to complex criminal cases at the federal, state, and local levels. The Criminal Defense Attorney will manage their own caseload, interact directly with clients, and collaborate with a team of attorneys and legal assistants. The position involves substantial courtroom experience, legal research, and case strategy development.

Location:

  • Las Vegas, NV

Duties:

  • Advise clients on their legal rights and prepare legal documents related to their cases.
  • Attend pretrial hearings and provide clients with strategic advice post-hearing.
  • Manage court appearances, trials, and handle drafting motions, witness interviews, and legal research.
  • Analyze probable outcomes of cases based on legal precedents.
  • Manage a caseload and ensure all cases progress efficiently.
  • Provide legal analysis to clients, highlighting potential benefits or drawbacks of their cases.
  • Collect additional evidence to support client cases or challenge prosecution charges.
  • Prepare clients for depositions and collaborate with experts and witnesses to strengthen case strategies.

Requirements:

  • Experience:
    • Minimum of 3 years of experience in Criminal Defense.
    • Experience handling complex criminal cases at the federal, state, and local levels.
  • Skills:
    • Strong legal research, writing, and motion drafting skills.
    • Ability to manage a caseload efficiently while maintaining high standards of client service.
    • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
    • Strong courtroom presence and trial experience.
  • Languages:
    • Bilingual (English/Spanish) is preferred, but not required.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active bar admission in Nevada (or eligibility for admission to the Nevada Bar).
