Patent Attorney

Job Overview: A law firm in Durham, NC, seeks a skilled Patent Attorney to join their team. The ideal candidate will have experience in drafting and prosecuting patent applications, providing strategic IP counseling, and conducting due diligence investigations.

Job Duties:

• Draft and prosecute patent applications in various technical fields.
• Partner with the firm's team and in-house groups to develop and implement comprehensive global IP strategies.
• Prepare opinions of counsel regarding patent validity, infringement, and enforceability.
• Conduct due diligence investigations, freedom-to-operate analyses, and landscape assessments.
• Engage in client-facing interactions to provide strategic IP counseling and advice.

Requirements:

• A degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Physics, or a related field or equivalent experience.
• Must be a member of the U.S. Patent Bar.
• Proven experience in patent drafting and prosecution is required.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience, specifically in patent drafting and prosecution.
