A law firm seeks an experienced and motivated Associate Attorney to join a growing litigation team in Fort Worth, Texas. The ideal candidate will have 3-8 years of civil litigation experience, a strong ability to conduct legal research and writing and thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. Duties:

  • Provide legal counsel to clients on civil litigation matters, offering advice and guidance on case strategies and potential outcomes.
  • Prepare and draft a variety of legal documents, including pleadings, motions, briefs, and discovery responses.
  • Represent clients in court, including participating in hearings, depositions, and trials.
  • Conduct legal research on relevant case law, statutes, and legal precedents to support case development.
  • Collaborate closely with senior attorneys and clients to manage case timelines, strategy, and litigation efforts.
  • Participate in settlement negotiations and alternative dispute resolution methods when applicable.
  • Maintain a high standard of client communication, ensuring timely updates on case status and legal developments.

Requirements:

  • 3 to 8 years of experience in civil litigation, ideally with a focus on defense work.
  • Proven experience in legal research and drafting of legal documents, including court pleadings and discovery.
  • Comfort in managing a caseload and representing clients in court proceedings, including trial.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex legal concepts clearly and effectively.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and deadline-driven environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Must be licensed to practice law in Texas and in good standing with the State Bar.

Education:

  • Juris Doctorate (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active membership in the State Bar of Texas.

Skills:

  • Expertise in civil litigation and case management.
  • Strong research and writing abilities, with an ability to draft clear and compelling legal documents.
  • Courtroom experience, including trials, depositions, and hearings.
  • Negotiation skills for settlements and alternative dispute resolution.
  • Proficiency with legal research tools, case management software, and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative legal team.
