Family Law Attorney

Job Overview:

Duties:

• Manage a demanding caseload involving complex divorce cases and parenting disputes.
• Independently analyze and organize complex financial documents.
• Prepare financial spreadsheets and assist in the preparation of legal pleadings, briefs, and settlement proposals.
• Represent clients in court, including trial appearances.
• Provide high-quality legal counsel to clients navigating emotionally charged family law situations.
• Collaborate with senior attorneys for mentorship and career development.
• Participate in professional development activities such as writing, lecturing, and handling complex family law cases.

Requirements:

• 2+ years of family law experience.
• Trial experience preferred.
• Proven ability to manage a demanding caseload and complex financial issues.
• Strong communication skills for client interaction and courtroom presentations.
• Ability to handle emotionally charged cases with professionalism and empathy.
• Self-starter with the ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.

Education:

• JD from an accredited law school.
• Active Bar membership in the state of Colorado or the ability to be admitted to the Colorado Bar.

Certifications:

• No specific certifications required, but additional certifications in family law are a plus.

Skills:

• Expertise in family law, including divorce, child custody, and financial settlements.
• Strong trial skills and courtroom experience.
• Financial acumen to manage complex financial documents and disputes.
• Excellent drafting skills for legal pleadings, settlement proposals, and briefs.
• Client management skills, with the ability to navigate sensitive and emotional situations.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Familiarity with family law technology and tools is beneficial.
