Job Overview: A law firm in San Diego, CA, is seeking a Mid-Level Transactional Tax Associate Attorney with a strong background in fund formation, Section 892 investors, real estate, income tax treaties, and cross-border transactions. The ideal candidate will have 2+ years of transactional tax experience and be admitted to practice law in California.

Job Duties:

  • Effectively communicate, verbally and in writing, with clients, lawyers, business professionals, and third parties.
  • Produce high-quality deliverables, answer phone calls, and respond to correspondence promptly.
  • Provide timely, accurate, and well-researched work product.
  • Meet deadlines, exceed expectations, and perform all assigned duties.
  • Foster positive working relationships with colleagues and clients.
  • Comply with all firm policies and practices.
  • Engage in physical and sedentary activities, including extended computer work, digital/virtual conference calls, and attending meetings as necessary.
  • Perform other duties, tasks, or projects as assigned.

Requirements:

  • JD degree from an accredited law school.
  • Active bar admission in California.
  • 2+ years of transactional tax experience, specifically in fund formation, Section 892 investors, real estate, income tax treaties, and cross-border transactions.
  • Prior experience with an AmLaw 100 law firm or SEC experience preferred.
  • Strong analytical and writing skills with attention to detail.
  • Excellent organizational skills and sound business judgment.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and independently.
  • Demonstrated oral and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in legal research and problem-solving.
  • Conceptual thinking and ability to influence others.

Education and Certifications:
