Job Overview:
A law firm specializing in immigration, family law, and related cases is seeking a Junior Attorney (Entry-Level or 1-3 years of experience) to join their team. The ideal candidate will have experience in immigration law, specifically related to Special Immigrant Juvenile cases and Board of Immigration Appeals. Fluency in Spanish is essential, as the firm primarily serves Spanish-speaking clients. The role offers an opportunity for growth and hands-on experience in a supportive, dynamic work environment.

Location: East Meadow, NY 

Duties:

  • Conduct legal research using Lexis-Nexis and Westlaw to support case preparation.
  • Draft legal documents and correspondence with attention to detail and clarity.
  • Assist clients with immigration law matters, providing guidance and representation.
  • Collaborate with senior attorneys on family law cases, including estate planning and Special Immigrant Juvenile cases.
  • Maintain organized case files and ensure compliance with legal procedures.
  • Communicate effectively with Spanish-speaking clients to address their legal needs.
  • Occasionally interview clients on weekends, as needed.

Requirements:

  • Fluency in Spanish (required).
  • Valid driver's license and car for travel to various courts (required).
  • Excellent legal research and writing skills.
  • At least one immigration law class completed during law school.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Willingness to conduct client interviews on weekends when necessary.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • New York State Bar admission (or pending)
