Duties:

  • Prepare and prosecute patent applications, ensuring adherence to USPTO regulations and guidelines.
  • Conduct thorough patentability searches and prepare detailed patent applications.
  • Draft and respond to office actions, amendments, and other correspondence related to patent prosecution.
  • Develop and execute strategies for patent prosecution and portfolio management.
  • Analyze patents and provide strategic advice on patent portfolio development and management.
  • Collaborate with clients and inventors to gather detailed technical information about inventions.
  • Monitor and manage deadlines for pending patent applications and other key dates.
  • Stay abreast of changes in intellectual property law and emerging technological trends.
  • Participate in client meetings to provide updates and strategic counsel on patent matters.

Requirements:

  • 1-2 years of experience in patent prosecution.
  • Undergraduate or advanced degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, software engineering, or computer sciences.
  • Very strong academic record demonstrating technical and legal proficiency.
  • Admittance to the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) is preferred.
  • Proven enthusiasm, dedication, and potential for growth within the firm.

Education:

  • Undergraduate or advanced degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, software engineering, or computer sciences.
  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA-accredited law school (required for USPTO admission).

Certifications:

  • Admittance to the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) is preferred.
