Job Title: Associate General Counsel

Job Overview: A prominent law firm located in New York City is actively seeking an experienced Associate General Counsel. This individual will primarily focus on lateral conflicts and integration, collaborating closely with the firm’s Conflicts Department. The role involves acting as the main liaison for lateral hires, managing conflict clearance, supporting new partners with matter openings, and facilitating clearance processes upon their arrival.

Duties:

• Serve as the primary point of contact for lateral hires regarding conflicts and integration matters.
• Work in close collaboration with the Conflicts Department to facilitate the conflict clearance process.
• Assist with onboarding new partners from the General Counsel’s office perspective.
• Support new lateral partners in opening matters and obtaining necessary clearance.
• Maintain consistent communication with internal teams to ensure smooth integration of lateral hires into the firm.

Requirements:

• Minimum of 10 years of legal practice experience, with broad in-house experience.
• Substantial experience in conflict review and litigation, ideally within an AmLaw 100 firm.
• Strong understanding of conflict clearance processes and integration within a law firm setting.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate with senior leadership and lateral hires.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Active membership in the New York State Bar, in good standing.
