Litigation Attorney

A law firm in Parsippany, NJ, is seeking a Litigation Attorney to join their growing and experienced team. The ideal candidate will have 4-8 years of litigation experience and will demonstrate proficient research and writing skills, with a strong background in representing both public and private clients. Trial experience is a plus, and familiarity with Title 59, Federal Court experience in civil rights cases, and New York Bar admission are also advantageous. The role requires a strong work ethic, excellent organizational and communication skills, and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.

Duties:

• Manage and litigate cases from initial filing through resolution, including drafting pleadings, motions, and discovery documents.
• Represent clients in court, handle depositions, and engage in settlement negotiations.
• Conduct thorough legal research and prepare detailed legal briefs, memoranda, and reports.
• Develop and execute case strategies, including identifying key issues and potential risks.
• Collaborate with clients, opposing counsel, and expert witnesses to build compelling cases.
• Provide expert legal advice and guidance on various litigation matters.
• Stay informed about relevant laws, regulations, and legal trends.
• Maintain accurate case records and ensure compliance with procedural deadlines.

Requirements:

• 4-8 years of litigation experience, with a demonstrated track record of handling complex cases.
• Trial experience is a plus.
• Proficient research and writing skills.
• Experience representing public and private clients.
• Strong work ethic, organizational, and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Title 59 and Federal Court experience in civil rights cases are pluses.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
• Strong academic record preferred.

Certifications:

• Admission to the New Jersey Bar is required.
