A law firm seeks a highly skilled midlevel associate to join their Tax practice in Palo Alto, California. The ideal candidate will possess 3 to 5 years of experience in a law firm setting, focusing on the tax aspects of various transactions. This role involves working with public and private companies, private funds, and alternative investment vehicles.

Duties:

  • Represent clients in tax-related matters involving fund formations, limited partner investments, mergers, and acquisitions.
  • Manage transaction processes, ensuring compliance with applicable tax laws and regulations.
  • Draft and review complex agreements and documentation associated with tax matters.
  • Communicate effectively with clients and stakeholders to address tax implications and strategies.
  • Negotiate terms of agreements while maintaining strong relationships with clients and partners.
  • Conduct thorough analyses of tax issues within the context of broader transactional goals.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to deliver comprehensive legal solutions tailored to client needs.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
  • 3 to 5 years of relevant experience in tax law, preferably in a law firm environment.
  • Active membership in the California Bar is mandatory.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited institution.

Certifications:

  • Must hold a valid California state bar membership.
