A respected law firm Financial District seeks an Attorney to handle trial and appellate cases, particularly in foreclosure litigation. This full-time position offers the opportunity to work on a wide range of civil litigation matters, develop strong legal strategies, and represent clients in both trial and appellate courts. The ideal candidate will have excellent research, drafting, and negotiation skills and will work collaboratively within a dynamic legal team.

Duties:

  • Organize case files, monitor calendar deadlines, and maintain updated client databases.
  • Manage time effectively to meet deadlines and anticipate case needs.
  • Develop cases by maintaining contact with parties and coordinating discovery and investigations.
  • Communicate regularly with clients about case progress and related costs.
  • Draft legal documents, including pleadings, motion papers, memoranda, demands, and notices.
  • Prepare for trial by conducting comprehensive case analysis and assembling trial materials.
  • Strategize and negotiate settlements in civil disputes.
  • Ensure efficient capture of billable hours.
  • Conduct comprehensive legal research to support litigation strategies.


Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the State Bar.
  • Must obtain admission to Federal District Courts within 18 months of employment.
  • Strong understanding of rules of civil procedure and trial court rules.
  • 15 years of experience drafting motion papers and pleadings (internship/externship experience preferred).
  • Ability to assess case-specific needs and work both independently and collaboratively.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in legal research and modern legal software.


Education:

  • Juris Doctorate (JD) from an accredited institution.


Certifications:

  • Admission to the State Bar (required).
  • Federal District Court admission (within 18 months of employment).
